Gold Soundz (1994)  was shot on location in and around Irvine, CA, most likely on June 12, 1994, the day after Pavement performed at the KROQ Weenie Roast, at the conclusion of their US tour. Shots are identifiable as having occurred more or less in order on the morning of checkout from the Irvine Marriott to early afternoon. It seems likely the band would have flown out of John Wayne Airport the same day.  The band had the rest of June off before undertaking an Australian tour in July. I grew up in Irvine, and I've long cherished this video as an poignant time capsule of the bland, anonymous town I remember so vividly. Every shot and scene is just saturated with Irvineness, and Pavement is there, cavorting like the dang Monkees.
